As jurisdictions around the world prepare to participate in the carbon market, British Columbia is viewed as an innovative leader pursing climate change policies, clean energy initiatives and building an active carbon market.
- Pacific Carbon Trust is establishing linkages and relationships with offset project developers, regulatory bodies, carbon experts and other groups all over the world. Thanks to these efforts, more and more groups are turning their attention to the pioneering work that’s being done in BC to tackle climate change.
- Because of the stable demand for high quality BC-based carbon offsets, respected firms have acquired accreditation to validate and verify emissions reductions in specific sectors and activities. This growing pool of internationally-accredited validators and verifiers ensures that BC will be competitive in future carbon markets.
- Transitioning to a low-carbon economy starts with awareness. Thanks to our work, more and more BC companies are factoring carbon into their bottom line – and learning how carbon offset projects can improve their efficiency and overall competitiveness.
